3D Animation Samples

I recently started to really get into 3D animation and sculpting characters and objects as an added element to my filmmaking.

As indie filmmakers we have to have a big tool box of skills to be able to create amazing stories. On my last feature Project:Eugenics, I really forced myself to work with 3D models. I would take existing models and animated them, such as drones and planes.

Now, I am at the point where I am able to create 3D characters and various other elements, which is really cool and will allow me to tell some interesting stories down the road.

In later posts I will talk more about the apps I use and go more into details on techniques and so on.

For now, here are some designs I created. These are all full 3D characters that can rotate 360 degrees.

Project Eugenics – VFX

Hello Everyone

To continue with our VFX series, in this post I have included a sample from a Filmmaking Today episode, only available as part of the Project:Eugenics – Filmmaking Edition, which you can download at www.ProjectEugenics.com for $14.99.

Also, check out this awesome review video below that Project:Eugenics received by Dark Apostle’s Bewitching Hour and if you like dark poetry and twisted stories, check out and subscribe to the channel.

Stay tuned for more.

In this post I want to talk about VFX and how I used it on my zombie flick Project:Eugenics, which is now available for sale or rent.

If you know your way around After Effects and Photoshop and would like to add more production value to your film, you should check out VideoCopilot.net.

They have an After Effects plugin called Element 3D that allows you to import 3D objects into After Effects and animate them. I used this technique on Project:Eugenics in various scenes to either animate jets and drones or to create 3D environments and other things.

In addition to Element 3D you can also get different 3D packs that consist of different 3D objects. If you don’t know how to create 3D objects using Maya or other applications or just want to save time, this is a great solution.

If you want to know more about how I used VFX on Project:Eugenics check out the Filmmaker Edition below. It has a Filmmaking Today episode that deals with VFX.

Get 30% off by using our promo code eugenics11, which expires today Nov. 23, 2015 at midnight. So hurry up and get it now!

Also, check out FilmmakingStuff.com. I wrote an article for them, which should be up on their website, in the next few days. The article is all about the post production process that I used, on Project:Eugenics, to save money and make the film for $5000.

And last but certainly not least, check out The Dark Apostle’s Bewitching Hour at https://www.youtube.com/GothicScrybe. They will have a review of Project:Eugenics in their upcoming episode on Friday Nov. 27, 2015.

Stay tuned, I’ll talk more about VFX, in general, in the next few weeks and I’ll have more camera comparison videos and reviews coming up.
